Hello again internet family – Unfortunately, I’ve not done a full show for a few weeks now and I must apologise…

First there was the fires we had here in Spain, which meant we had to abandon the show (boo), then I was away for a fantastic week of music and (more) fun in the sun at the Vocalbooth (another blog post coming about that later in the week)…oh, and I got engaged…

This week I’ve covered a couple out of the Quantize Records stable.  Their WMC 2012 sampler came into the “bag” this week and I thought I’d give them a play

Tracks to watch out for are “New Me” (Frankie Feliciano Vocal Mix) – Jonny Montana & Dawn Williams. Quality from start to finish. That little gem is available on Solid Ground Records.

“Don’t You Wanna (Ms. Sheila’s Groove) – Sheila Ford & N’Dinga Gaba” is one of the Quantize Promo list.  Ms Fords vocals in fine form once again and N’Dinga Gaba’s sweet production.  Gonna make a splash.

“Love Song – (Imaani Brown Soul Mix) – Mickey K” – Fell in love with it first time I heard it.  Hauntingly good.

Numbers growing, family growing, love growing – Absolutely pleased as punch with the turnout tonight.  From the beginning of the session we had a record number of viewers ready and waiting before I even started the show…I must be doing something right

Some new music and promos floating around this week and the dodgy CD drive has been replaced by an older, but working drive, so more music burnt and more tunes to play to you guys.  I didn’t manage to play all the new stuff I intended to but you’ll get to hear it in the coming weeks.

Check out the show and look out for the little wind down session for the “Early morning ravers” – Old Skool mellowness at it best – Many thanks for Stephen Adams (Doc Love Supreme) for pointing me in the direction of such tracks and re-kindling my love of music from way back when!

Listen out for  ”Until You (Muthafunkaz Vocal Remix)” N’dinga Gaba and DJ Spen join forces yet again to produce this amazing track – Marc Evans on vocals with his usual and characteristic emotional vocals.  Out on Quantize Records, this track is already set to be big.

Also, another promo pick up this week from Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse Records is a track entitled “Passengers” – Mr Kerri Chandler on the remix – it’s a deep slow building track and encompasses some serious sounds – Music depicting a journey…

Mr V is represented this week on a number of tracks in the form of “Deep Inside”  and “Deep (House Music)” – Deep is where it’s at!

Just one more…The Karizma remix the classic house track “4 the love” will have you off your seats.

This week we go a little deep…just a little

I’ve been touching a little on the deeper side recently with my music, bringing about some bigger sounds, stompier beats and bassier baselines.  With some great “BIG ROOM CHOONS” around at the moment I thought I play some to you this week.

Being a DJ in Spain and touching on the club scene here it’s easy to get carried into a “techier” side of house so I’ve trid to incorporate some of those modern sounds into the playlist today.  Coupled with a distinctively US underground house sound there are some corkers in the tracklist tonight.

Tracks that stand out:

Check out “The Deeper I Go” (Mr. V Remix).  The Wizard Brian Coxx and Roland Clark are brought together on this track on Brian’s Soulgasm label with a bouncy stomping mix.

73 Tomtom Avenue is another stomper of a track(Jimpster Mix) – David K

Atjazz makes another return this week in the form of “I Forgot you” – Typical Atjazz brilliance.

A ton of new tracks in the bag tonight and this deeper mix demonstrates some of the music a little outside the mainstream underground.

Those who have been following the regular radio show know how I’ve been battling with my kit so please forgive the technical errors that have arisen purely out of my old battle torn Stanton decks fighting a last stand (s.250 decks and a SMX.211 mixer for those interested).

Also Sennheiser HD-25 headphones make you sound like you’re on the moon when you use them as a mic (so I’ve been told) – another technical failure during the show when I decided to upgrade the mic and ended up buggering it up totally.  Watch the video and this may make a bit more sense to you…

ANYWAY, some big choons in the bag tonight and I had a lot of fun playing them…Some tracks that stood out for me include “I Left It On Hi” (No-Solo Mix)  Chris Forman feat. and a very very Happy New Year to you all.  Ironically, with this being my first post of the year, I’d like to bring your attention to a live mix of my poolside session at Vocal Booth Weekender from last year (2011) – Easily the best musical event for me last year on so many levels.  To be there, with so many friends, in the sunshine and get to play music to so many good people…AMAZING
