To boldly grow where no man has grown before…
Movember is upon us once again – Each year the organisation gathers men (and women) from around the globe with the aim of raising money to go towards fighting cancer, raising awareness and helping those victims and families who have suffered as a result of this deadly disease.
Back in London for another DJing session
This weekend is a very special weekend in my DJing calendar. For the past 2 years I have returned to London for DJing at the Brickhouse usually to celebrate my friend and DJ collegue, DeanJay’s birthday. This weekend is no exception to the rule.
Following on from previous years the Brickhouse club in London is once again the stage for the annual celebrations to take place SOS DJs to get together and bring you one sweet night of pure underground deep soulful house music. I don’t get back to London (my home town) very often so this is always one of the best nights in my DJ world. I love DJing in London and I’m looking forward to this
Thanks for the love
I’d just like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all the SOS DJs for their (usual) superb music over the course of last Saturday. As some of you know on SOS Radio we like to get together and put on a full day of music every Saturday, basically FOR THE LOVE. For the love of the music and for the love of the people. Sometimes we get it together, sometimes we don’t. But last Saturday was one of those “I love it when a plan comes together” kinda day.
People often talk about how much the LOVE music and there is no doubt that it influences us all in our lives every day. “For the love of house”, “Music is my life” and other phrases that “BIG UP” music float around every day of the week.
I’m a great lover of music…A GREAT LOVER and after coming across this video today I felt I had to share. This video is one of those that you never quite know how it will hit you, until you watch it. It’s inspiring, sad, happy, moving, invigorating and enlightening. It may not change your life, but will show the potential of the power of music.
I recently read an article written by DJ Andy Ward about the possibility of promotional music hosting websites (and in this respect, any service hosting website) inflating or “falsifying” it’s visitor numbers to get more money out of you. For example, some services will charge you a premium depending on the amount of “plays” you get from site visitors or number/size of mixes you host with them. The more visitors you recieve, the more of a premium you pay!
While I agree with him in principle about the falsely inflated numbers floating around the internet (a lot of it is a sham), I’m not sure about the companies, particular the major ones, inflating visitor numbers to get more money out of you (although it would be an easy scam to pull).
But can the numbers be trusted?
