Greetings one and all,
I’d like to introduce you to a new series of mixes (yes, yet another one) taking the musical vibes just a little bit deeper…
Welcome to “Some folks call it Deep”
What is Deep House?
The genre “Deep House” has been around for some time. It’s origins are always argued and it’s sound is always debated…so I won’t go into that. I will hopefully try to show you my interpretation through the mixes.
In more recent times, it’s good name has been taken in vain to represent a more “modern” version. While there is a lot of music I have heard that I personally wouldn’t class as deep house I can see how the original genre has merged and modernised to create the new sound. On that note, there is also a lot of music out there classed as DEEP HOUSE that I would class as “band-wagonning” a good name hence creating a lot of confusion out there.
Why AM I doing these mixes?
You all know me for my deep SOULFUL house mixes. There are a number of sides to my musical mixing palette that I like to dabble in from time-to-time. It’s a fantastic fusion of soulful, tribal, jazzy, I thought the time had come to put some of out to the public and hopefully send out more enjoyment…music for many occasions. funky vibes. I already have “The Gospel According to Tito” for the deep soulful house, “This was MY Sunday” for the mellower side and in the last 6 months have also started “La Casa de Stomp”; a harder stompier side to my house music loves. For my part I’m looking to experiment with the different levels of this great and wonderful genre and bring you guys a mix from time to time for you all to [hopefully] enjoy!!!
